      Background

      I am writing to express my interest in the Chalet couples position for the 2025/26 ski season. With over 3 years of experience in the catering industry, currently working on the bar at the same company, I believe my skills, experience and enthusiasm make me an excellent fit for the role. I am eager to take on new challenges in a chalet host environment and provide guests with an amazing experience. Throughout my time working in hospitality, I have developed strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. As a bar staff member, I’ve gained hands-on experience managing busy shifts throughout the weekdays and weekends while keeping on top of full time school work. I maintain a high level of service, and ensure that all customers feel welcome and have a good experience. I thrive in fast-paced environments and am used to adapting quickly to meet both customer needs and company expectations. In addition to my professional experience, I have a passion for outdoor activities so once i get to know the area I would love to help guests with advice on what to do and where to go. An example of my outdoor accomplishments is that I have done both bronze and gold duke of Edinburgh and have been on a few ski holidays and a keen interest in skiing. I am also currently learning how to snowboard. I understand that the role of a Chalet Host involves not only providing exceptional hospitality but also creating a warm, friendly atmosphere for guests to relax after a day on the slopes. My approachable personality, attention to detail, and ability to work as part of a team make me confident that I can meet and exceed these expectations. Thank you for considering my application.         I currently work at Dougherty and Allen Catering. I have completed a variety of roles such as basic food prep, pot wash, waiting on and I am bar trained. Working on the bar has been my main work currently and has been for around 2 years. I have experience of silver service wedding functions and a wide variety of formal and informal events. I currently work for them at the Chester Rugby Club, running the bar on evenings and at weekends. I am confident when dealing with the general public and have developed excellent communication and social skills through talking to customers and colleagues. I have also trained new and inexperienced staff members to the high standard that they expect. I have experience of stock control, stock rotation and cashing up.
