Background
Having grown up in South Africa in the restaurant industry because my family owned and ran two restaurants in Cape Town, I’ve always been immersed in hospitality and loved the buzz of food and people! I went on to work as a part time front-of-house receptionist at The Ivy from sixth form right through to the end of university. There I learned how to multitask, stay proactive in busy environments and how to deal with all sorts of people – from the tricky customers to the really lovely ones – always staying calm and positive. I’ve also worked on the bar during a few summer festivals which is pretty intense work and very long shifts. I’m a naturally outgoing, social, and hard-working team member, and I’m confident I can add value to both the team and the guests, helping to make this season a fun and exciting one for everyone! Cooking is something I’ve loved developing over many years. Growing up in the kitchen with my mum, I always enjoyed creating new recipes and perfecting our ‘home cooking.’ In my final year at university, I ended up cooking dinner every night for my five housemates, which taught me how to plan and cook for a bigger group with different dietary requirements. I might not have formal culinary training, but I’m confident in my ability to make delicious meals whilst keeping things clean and organised, and in my time management. I’m also a quick learner, and I’m excited to keep improving my cooking skills this season. I know that paying attention to the little things can make a big difference to a guest’s holiday experience and that also that the first impression really matters – it sets the tone for their whole stay. I have a naturally bubbly personality, love meeting new people and am extremely diligent and conscientious, so I feel becoming a member of one of your teams is the perfect fit for me! I’m confident that I can help make every guest’s stay a memorable one whilst combining three of my greatest passions - hospitality, food and skiing!
