      Background

I have been fortunate enough to ski since I was 3 and as I got older, I know that this is what I wanted to do during my gap year. Now I have finished Education and am Planning a year out to travel and explore. I want to do a season to meet new people, socialise, ski most days, interact with a wider range of people and find out what it's like to work abroad.

      Job experience

      • April 2022 - present
        waiter/ Team manager
        The Plough Inn
        Coldharbour, Dorking, UK

I have spent the last three years in hospitality, currently a team leader, at a busy country restaurant/ Inn, where I have the responsibilities of a waiter as well as training newcomers, and helping to clean rooms in the inn upstairs. I have developed many strong skills dealing with members of the public. This experience has taught me to adapt quickly to unforeseen challenges while working on my feet. I have learned how to work with all types of customers in a respectful manner, ensuring they leave highly satisfied

      • March 2021 - present
        Fun supporter (playing with Kids)
        My Time (Volunteering)
        Dorking, UK

I volunteer at My Time sessions for 14 young carers aged between 7-12yrs. I help the team leader by preparing arts and crafts activities and join in with them. Help serve the food and drinks. Which for some of the kids, is the only evening meal that is prepared for them. I have found when sitting together some of the young carers have talked to me about their life. I feel they do this as we are close in age, and they have known me for as long as they have been going and see me as a trusted person. I organise the games we play, and the equipment needed. During these sessions majority of the kids feel the need to release energy, which is translated into; being chased, chasing, piggybacks and all manner of physical exertion. I see their smiling, happy faces as they leave, content with the fun we share.
