Dear Hiring Team, I am writing to apply for a chalet host position for the 2025/26 winter season. Having skied in Meribel annually since I was seven, and being lucky enough to stay in a hosted chalet, I have always wanted to come back as an adult and work as a host. I am friendly, proactive and would love to be part of a family’s memorable stay. I have just completed the Orchards Cookery course in June which I enjoyed so much. I am currently working as a Commis Chef for the pub chain Cubitt House. I am due to receive Irish citizenship in 3 weeks time and then I will be applying for an EU passport immediately with the hope of receiving this in time for November 2025. I have a strong background in childcare and informal hospitality, having worked as a babysitter for two London based families. These roles also included waitressing at private events, greeting guests, serving food and drinks, and helping with the set up and tidying up. This helped build my confidence and communication skills. I am equally at home chatting with guests as I am behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly. I love working with children in particular and as part of a team. Hosting comes naturally to me. I’ve grown up in a large, sociable household where cooking for 10–12 people is not unusual, and I take real pride in making people feel relaxed and looked after. Whether it’s keeping the chalet tidy, serving breakfast with a smile, or offering helpful local tips, I’m someone who loves to go the extra mile.
