        Restaurant Staff Member
        Brodys Breakfast Bistro
        Exeter, UK

My most recent job was working in busy, fast-paced breakfast restaurant, delivering high standards of customer service. I took on a variety of roles, including front of house, preparing waffles and pancakes, clearing and cleaning tables, and washing up.

I worked in a small team of 4-5 at weekends. During the week and half term, I independently managed the entire restaurant floor; serving up to 90 customers. I also helped in the kitchen when required, including covering chefs breaks and cooking breakfast whilst managing the restaurant floor. I regularly worked 11.5 hours a day and deep cleaned the restaurant on Friday evenings.

I regularly trained and supported new staff members and developed a strong understanding of food allergies and dietary requirements. I consistently demonstrated reliability and took no sick days. I was also very flexible, picking up shifts when available and balancing long hours and early morning starts alongside my studies.

I worked in a busy cafe-restaurant where I took customers orders, served food and drinks, prepared hot drinks, cleared and cleaned tables, serving up to 380 customers during peak times. Working in a small team of 6, I developed strong teamwork and communication skills while maintaining high standards of customer service in a busy environment.

      Education

      • University of Exeter
Bsc Medical Sciences (Pharmacology and Theraputics)
        2022 - 2025
I studied at the University of Exeter from September 2022 to June 2025, graduating with a First Class Honour degree in Medical Sciences (Pharmacology and Therapeutics).

I'm very sociable and outgoing and really enjoyed the social side of university; meeting new people and making friends. Alongside that, I loved my degree and the ranges of skills I developed and academic challenges that came with it. In particular, my final year dissertation project was a key part of my academic experience. I carried out a labratory based research project, which required spending 4-5 days a week in the lab throughout my first term. It was a demanding but rewarding experience and our research led to novel findings in the field.

This was balanced with other module commitments and a part time job. This experience gave me time management, organisational and perseverance skills. I also enjoyed partaking in weekly small group learning sessions as part of my degree, which helped develop my communication and teamwork skills.
