Background

I am Claire, and together with my husband Joe we are a married British couple applying for a Chalet Host Couple role for the upcoming winter season. We have been together for 18 years and bring a strong partnership, shared work ethic and a genuine passion for cooking, hosting and creating memorable guest experiences. After 17 years in the corporate world, we are excited to pursue a long standing dream of spending a ski season living and working in the mountains. We both love skiing, cooking, hosting and outdoor adventure, and believe chalet hosting perfectly combines our skills and interests. Between us, we offer extensive transferable experience from senior professional roles, including leadership, organisation, teamwork, communication and problem solving. We are calm under pressure, dependable and genuinely enjoy creating positive, welcoming environments for others. I bring hospitality experience through creating bespoke wedding cakes for events of up to 80 guests, hold a Food Safety Supervisor certification and have volunteered delivering community cooking and food education courses. Joe has previous bar experience and strong cooking skills developed through home cooking and formal courses. We regularly host groups of 10–15 friends and family, creating relaxed, engaging dining experiences. My volunteer work with Lifeline Australia has strengthened my people skills and ability to support individuals from diverse backgrounds. We both hold WSET Level 1 in Wines and have intermediate conversational French. We are practical, organised and resourceful, and in 2023 coordinated our own week long wedding celebration in Italy for 30 guests while living in Australia. We are enthusiastic about all aspects of chalet life and would bring warmth, professionalism, reliability and genuine care to the role.
