Hotel Chalet Matsuzaka is a 10 bedroom chalet sytle 4* hotel in the Les Eucherts area of La Rosière 1850 (Espace San Bernardo). Critically acclaimed, we rank 9+ in Booking, Expedia / Trip Advisor and we are unique with our beautiful Japanese Spa and original cuisine, based in the international resort of La Rosiere 1850 linked direct to Italy, La Thuile. Entering into our 18th season, we are looking for a hard working, independent, person with a true passion for cooking. As we have established menus, we are looking specifically for somebody interested in learning or expanding their knowledge base of catering and will also take into account those with limited experience (people with experience and/or qualifications will be prioritised).

Working with a small flexible team, with good pay (French contract), 35hrs average, accommodation and benefits, you will be mainly be looking after the kitchen and cooking (covers vary from 12 in low season to 28 in high), but will also be expected to assist in all aspects of the chalet duties. One or two days off per week (depending on school holidays) there's plenty of time to ski/board in one of the most beautiful resort of La Rosière 1850.

If you are a good cook/chef, serious about your work quality and motivated to deliver exceptional service, as well as able to adapt swiftly to the demands of guests, then we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea (served everyday)
  • Preparation and delivery of a two choice menu, 4-course evening meal for 5 or 6 days (note - many choices are Japanese)
  • Additional children's menu served during school holidays - additional preparation of canapés for special occasions (eg New Year, Christmas, Valentines Day..)
  • Breakfast assistance (the team work together to deliver freshly cooked hot food)
  • HACCP system - Ordering and stock control - Cleanliness of the kitchen (spotless and daily routine)

Requirements

Essential

  • Candidates should show any relevant catering experience (preferably some time in the hospitality industry).
  • All applicants must be able to work in the EU (work visa, carte de sejour, EU nationality..).
  • High level of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Time keeping and dedication to meeting a very high level of service (before your own leisure time).
  • Flexible, good team player, ability to work without supervision.


Desirable:

  • HACCP / hygiene training.
  • French language.
  • Non smoker.
